Graduating Student of the Year (Fall 2009)
An award for students given by students!
This award will be granted by the Human Sciences Council to a December 2009 graduating senior who has displayed exemplary leadership ability and overall character. The selected student will be presented this award at College of Human Sciences Graduation Celebration for Bachelor's Candidates at C.Y. Stephens Auditorium on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.
Eligibility for Award:
- College of Human Sciences Senior (graduating December 2009)
- Involvement within the College of Human Sciences as well as ISU community
- Demonstrated responsibility and leadership roles within activities
- Student that exemplifies "going above and beyond"
Nominations may be submitted by an ISU student, faculty, staff, advisor, or student group
To nominate a Fall 2009 graduating senior:
Submit a brief statement (200 words or less) about the nominee including his/her leadership activities and abilities and why s/he deserves this award.
Nomination Deadline: Friday, November 20th by 5pm
Submission process: Email nomination to tfisher@iastate.edu (subject line: Graduating Student of the Year) or submit hard copy to the Human Sciences Council mailbox in 131 MacKay (Human Sciences Student Services)
NOMINATION FORM
As nominations are received, nominees will be contacted by a CHS Student Council representative or advisor with final instructions to complete their nomination.
To complete the nomination process, nominees will be asked to submit the following documents by Tuesday, December 1st by 5pm:
- A brief essay (400 words or less) about what they have gained from their leadership experiences
- (1)-page resume that includes his/her activities during ISU

Selection Process
The Awards Review Committee within the Human Sciences Council will review final applications and recommend a recipient to the Human Sciences Council for selection.
The selected student will be notified of his/her receipt of this award and be recognized at the CHS graduation ceremony on Friday, December 18, 2009.
