Guidelines for Undergraduate Student Grants

The following are the guidelines to use when applying for a College of Human Sciences Council Grant.

GUIDELINES

  1. Application Deadlines for the 2009-2010 academic year Student Grants considerations is 5:00 PM on October 30, 2009 (Fall Semester) and March 26, 2010 (Spring Semester)
    • Submit completed application form to 131 MacKay Hall (Human Sciences Student Services)
    • See #6 below for application content instructions.
  2. The College of Human Sciences Council Grant Committee will review funding applications (1) time per semester and make recommendations to the Council. Funding will be approved (or denied) by a majority vote of the Council.
  3. Funding will be available for reimbursement of past events (within one calendar year from the date of the activity/event) or allocated for a future event prior to April 10, 2010.
    • NOTE: ALL original, itemized receipts MUST BE submitted for reimbursement purposes.
    • Funding will only be reimbursed or allocated to the total of available receipts regardless the approved amount.
  4. Events/Requested FUNDED:
    • Preference will be given to undergraduate opportunities.
    • The following is not an exhausted list of possibilities:
      • Professional development conferences, guest speakers
      • Field trips, workshops, seminars
      • Undergraduate research
  5. Events/Requests NOT FUNDED:
    • Individual and organization requests for funding of the same activity
    • Study tours, internships or practicums, social, or VEISHEA activities
    • Graduate grant applications/research. Graduate students should visit GPSS for funding sources.
    • Any event/request for which the/a student is receiving academic credit
  6. Grants may cover up to fifty (50%) percent of the total costs of the activity, but
    • For Organizations: will not exceed $500.00
    • For Individuals: will not exceed $350.00
    • Two or more individuals filling a grant request for the same purpost must apply as an organization. Failure to comply with this may result in denail of funding
    • NOTE: Monies available for organizations are contingent on attendance at Council meetings per the CHS Council constitution (See Council Exec member or Club representative for details.)
  7. Application forms are available for:
    1. Undergraduate students
    2. College of Human Sciences Student Organizations

**Students/organizations cannot be reimbursed if original receipts are not provided.
