Student Grants

The College of Human Sciences Council will provide grants to individual students or organizations in the college for special educational opportunities such as professional development conferences, field trips, workshops, seminars, guest speakers, and undergraduate research. Preference will be given to undergraduate opportunities.

GUIDELINES

1. Application DEADLINE = Tuesday, April 1 by 5:00 pm
   • Submit completed application form to 131 MacKay Hall (Human Sciences Student Services)
   • See #6 below for links to specific applications for undergraduate or graduate students and CHS student organizations
2. The College of Human Sciences Council Grant Allocations Committee will review funding applications (1) time per semester and make recommendations to the Council. Funding will be approved (or denied) by a majority vote of the Council.
3. Funding will be available for reimbursement of past events or allocated for a future event within (1) calendar year from the date of the activity/event.
NOTE: ALL original, itemized receipts MUST BE submitted for reimbursement purposes.
4. Events/Requests NOT FUNDED:
   • Individual and organization requests for funding of the same activity
   • Study tours, internships or practicums
   • Social or VEISHEA activities
   • Graduate research
   • Any project for which a student is receiving academic credit
5. If your grant application is approved, you MUST submit the following documentation AFTER the event to receive funding*
   • Original, itemized receipts** for all possible purchases/costs (i.e. registration, hotel, or gas receipts). Receipts must total more than the allocated funding amount to allow reimbursement.
   • A one page, double spaced summary of the activity (who, what, when, where) and the benefits of the activity to the individual/organization and to the College of Human Sciences.
6. APPLICATION FORMS are available for:
   • Undergraduate student
   • Graduate student
   • College of Human Sciences Student Organizations

* Submit these materials to 131 MacKay Hall (Human Sciences Student Council mailbox)

**Students/organizations cannot be reimbursed if original receipts are not provided.
