	Welcome to the Multicultural Retention Programs Office in the College of Human Sciences. *Welcome back to Iowa State University!* My name is Yanira Pacheco and I am the Coordinator for Multicultural Retention Programs in the College of Human Sciences. I'm also your Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO). As your MLO some of my responsibilities are to serve you as your liaison between faculty and staff; coordinate programs that will help you in your professional and academic development; and also provide you with opportunities to network with your peers, faculty and staff in our College. Situated in each college at Iowa State University, Multicultural Liaison Officers (MLO) identify, develop, implement and coordinate various educational, cultural and social activities for students of color in the represented college. As members of the Multicultural Student Affairs team, the MLO works with students of color, faculty and staff members to create a university environment more conducive to successful matriculation, graduation, and placement of student of color through the coordination of programs, services, activities, and functions and in concurrence with each College and the Dean of Students Office.
